Lead System Engineer (Storage & Backup)
Senior Systems Engineer (Storage & Backup)
Senior Systems Architect (Storage Solutions)
Location: Abu Dhabi - 5 days onsite
Salary: £80,000 - £115,000 (up to 547,601 Dirham) depending on experience and level of position
Role overview:
- Work closely with architecture and engineering teams to assess and choose storage and backup technologies.
- Conduct capacity planning to accommodate current and future storage requirements.
- Design and implement strategies to improve storage infrastructure reliability.
- Optimize storage performance and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with the IaaS operations team to enhance monitoring and observability.
- Ensure storage systems are protected against cybersecurity risks.
- Keep thorough and up-to-date documentation.
- Multiple years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale solutions.
- Practical experience with Ceph, KVM, and Proxmox is highly beneficial.
- Extensive hands-on experience with storage systems from top vendors such as HPE, Dell, and NetApp.
- Expertise in Linux, Linux kernel, and RedHat environments.
- Experience with object storage solutions and cloud-native backup technologies.
- Familiarity with clustered and parallel file systems, as well as containerization technologies.
- Strong knowledge of backup systems, disaster recovery strategies, and data protection.
- Understanding of CI/CD processes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Advanced programming and scripting skills in Python, Golang, or Bash.
